A space to find your way through, at your own pace
Sometimes you just need someone to walk alongside you while you find your own way forward.
I'm Ruth, a person-centred counsellor working with adults navigating grief, relationship struggles, questions around sexuality, and the weight of everyday stress.
I won't tell you what to do or diagnose you — we'll figure out together what's actually going on, at your pace.
Grief: Loss doesn't follow a script. Whether it's recent or something you've been carrying for years, there's space here to feel it without being rushed through it.
Relationships: Struggling with a partner, family, or friendship? Sometimes it helps to untangle things with someone outside the situation entirely.
Sexuality: Questions about identity, orientation, or intimacy deserve a space that's genuinely open — no assumptions, no judgment.
Stress: When everything feels like too much, counselling can be a place to slow down and actually hear yourself think again.
The Four Areas
If we go ahead, sessions run for 60 minutes, and you can choose online or in-person.
The first session usually takes a little longer: we'll talk through how you'd like to proceed, there are a few short forms to fill in (not many), and together we'll work out a way forward.
How Sessions Work
Before training as a counsellor, I spent many years in pastoral ministry - work that taught me a great deal about sitting with people through their hardest moments, and about the value of simply being present rather than having answers.
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am an accredited member of ABCAP. I’ve been practising from my home office for over two years now.
Outside of sessions, you’ll usually find me crafting, baking, spending time with our grandchildren, or relaxing at home with my husband, our two dogs, and one cat.

You’ve already taken the hardest and most important step, by looking up a counsellor.
You can contact me via:
Phone: (+44)07936585913
I will reply to you as soon as I can - leave me a message and your contact details.
-
I charge £35 per session for individuals.
For couples and families other pricing structures are available.
A discount is available for students and people receiving benefits. Nobody should be denied help due to financial struggles.
-
The first session will last 80 mins (first 30 minutes are free).
Subsequent sessions will last 50 mins.
Usually I recommend a starting commitment of 6 sessions, and then re-evaluating progress.
However you will pay for sessions individually, normally in advance of the appointment via BACS.
